About the artist

Grandma Artist

Bonnie Collins was born in California in the 1940’s. At an early age she always had a pencil in her hand and would get in trouble for drawing all over the house.

At age of 5 her parents moved to the Navajo county Area, in Arizona she went to school with Navajo and Pima Indians which was her inspiration to start painting American Indian art and other ethnic Groups.

At age 20 her mother bought her a set of oils and said I wish I would have realized sooner you have the love to draw and paint. That’s when she realized that there was no turning back. Fine art and impressionism in oils is her love.

In 1978 she moved to Kirkland Washington with her husband and 4 children. Finding time to paint in the early mornings before work and the children waking up and after they went to bed. Moving to the Great Northwest she sold her art at Kenneth Behm Galleries and realized her abilities to sell art to a wide and variety of clientele.

She currently has been learning about different Asian cultures; this has inspired some of her latest paintings. She wants to inspire others to paint and pursue their creative talents. It brings such joy to use our hands to create gifts for others to enjoy.

People are most important to her. Showing kindness to all she meets and is what makes one rich, she says.

Her hope is that you will always look at each day as precious and as you bring her art home, it will be a reminder to you how important it is to look closely at all the beauty that has been created for us all to enjoy!
